Welcome to 8th grade English! I am beginning my 15th year with Grand Ledge Public Schools. This is my first year teaching at Hayes Middle School. For the past 5 years, I have taught 6th grade math and language arts at Willow Ridge Elementary School. Before that, I taught math and English for 9 years at Beagle Middle School. I am a graduate of Central Michigan University and have a Master’s Degree from Marygrove College. I also serve as treasurer of the Michigan Association of Middle School Educators (MAMSE).

One of my favorite hobbies is traveling. I have traveled to England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, and a few other countries. Most recently, I’ve traveled to Florida, Chicago, Wisconsin, Boston, and Cape Cod. My other favorite hobbies include reading, taking photographs, and volunteering at Ele’s Place. I love being “Auntie M” to my 4-year old nephew, Mason, and my 19-month old niece, Lucy.
